Making kidswear last: repair, resize, pass on

By Rhea Kapoor · 2026-03-05 · 6 min read

Wash cold and dry flat. Heat is what destroys elastane and shrinks cotton faster than actual wear does.

Let down hems on trousers and dresses before replacing them — most kidswear is cut with 3-4cm of spare hem.

Sort outgrown pieces into keep, pass on and recycle every season change, while you still remember what fits.
